Auxilary Bishop
Pope Francis appointed Father Joseph Kollamparampil as auxiliary bishop of the Eparchy Shamshabad on Aug 25th, 2022. Bishop Kollamparampil was born on 22nd September 1955. He joined the Good Shepherd Minor Seminary in Palai and completed his priestly formation at St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary in Vadavathoor. He was ordained Priest on Dec 18th, 1981. He holds his Master of Arts degree from St. Thomas College, Palai and his Doctorate in Political Science from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He served as Parish Priest in Kudakkachira, Nellappara and Vellikulam. He has also worked in his various capacities as Director of the Pastoral Institute, Palai, Lecturer and Bursar of St. Thomas College, Director of the Christ Raj Hostel and the St. Thomas College of Teacher Education. From 2003 to 2011, he was the Dean of St. George College, Aruvithura. He has also held the posts of Eparchial Consultor, member of the Council for Economic Affairs and Syncellus of the Eparchy of Palai. Since 2019, he has been serving as the Syncellus of the Eparchy of Shamshabad vested with the Sabarmati Mission in Gujarat. Besides his duties as the First Auxiliary of the Eparchy of Shamshabad he will be vested with the responsibility of autonomous administration and pastoral care of the Sabarmati mission involving Ahmedabad to Damen Diu and Nagar Haveli (15 Districts of Gujarat and union territories)
